Bosco’s has been serving fine meats and more to the Oswego community for more than a half-century.
Our parents, Joseph and Barbara Bosco, founded the store in 1959. It started as a family-owned and operated full-service food market, and that’s how it remains. As the next generation, we have been building on the foundation that they have given us.
My brothers and I took over the store in 1992 with our parents’ retirement. Our specialty is fresh cut meats and assorted specialty sausages. My brother Joseph has continued to produce our father’s traditional sausage recipes, along with expanding our varieties. Over the years he has added to our list of sausage options, which now includes an assortment of chicken and turkey sausage as well as over 10 varieties of pork sausage. John has ensured that we have stayed at the forefront of new development in the meat-cutting industry. He also used old family recipes to create a store-cooked meatball that has become a staple in the meat department. As for myself, I have been managing the store for over 40 years now. Under my leadership we have been able to expand the store to nearly twice our original size, as well as fully renovate the meat department.
Of all the things that we feel makes us different and special, it is our staff that really shines. We work hard with our employees to make sure that each of our departments has unique options to offer our customers. Our deli has built a steady following with their Friday fish dinners, Sunday turkey dinners and daily lunch specials. Our produce department offers seasonal locally grown produce as well as organic options. Our bakery department has a variety of bread, rolls and assorted pastries and pies that are freshly baked daily.
